Father's Day Weekend

This past weekend went by so fast but it was a lot of fun! Let's see, Friday night started out with my friend Brittany and I going to dinner and then to Watermark Church for a singles event called "The Dive." The featured speakers for the evening were Conway and Jada Edwards who were outstanding!! They spoke on role reversals in marriages and why that is one of the number one causes of divorce among couples...

Following The Dive, we met up with some of our guy friends that were there and went to a movie at North Park - I must say, I have never come out of North Park after midnight - it is a totally different scene when it closes... When I got home, my parents friends were just leaving (late night owls, I know!). That was closer to 1am...

Saturday morning, my dad and I had to drive to Ft. Worth to pick up these huge blocks of styrofoam that go under the dock at the lake (apparently, the company in Ft. Worth is the only one in North Texas to carry this stuff). Erin went to my aunt's house in Burleson this weekend and took the suburban so that she could pick these up for us, however, they would not fit in the suburban - which is why my dad and I had to take the truck to get them on Saturday...such a hassle and such a waste of gas!

Saturday night, I went to dinner with an old friend and then came back to my house to hang out where another old friend, Amy, joined us when we got back.

Sunday (Father's Day) we went up to the lake after church to hang out and to take those blocks of styrofoam up there. What an adventure getting up there. We had to take the truck since the blocks were in the bed (taking up the whole thing) and we didn't want to have to take two cars due to gas prices...so, all five of us piled into the truck with day bags and presents..then Erin's dog sat at her feet for the hour drive. It was quite cozy to say the least! haha. Much better on the way home though since we could put stuff in the bed. After eating lunch and opening Father's Day gifts, we spent most the day on the new boat taking a ride around the lake. Then we came back to Dallas around 8... it was a great weekend!
